News: The rumored Mario & Rabbids crossover seems to be real and you might be seeing it sooner than you think.
Mario & Rabbids Kingdom Battle is coming to the Nintendo Switch according to some leaks. Earlier this year there was a rumor floating around the internet about a Mario and Rabbids crossover. According to Nintendo World Report that game is indeed coming to the Nintendo Switch and the potential release date is in the August/September timeframe. One has to assume the big reveal will come at Ubisoft’s E3 press conference but some details are becoming available now.
Mario & Rabbids Kingdom Battle is being described as a “combat action adventure” game that will take approximately 20 hours to go through the story. It is going to be in Ubisoft’s Snowdrop engine which means the game should look fantastic and there will be two player local co-op available.
There will apparently be four “world environments” to discover full of puzzles and secret zones. There will be tactical options available to you such as dash, team jump, warp pipes and more. You will be able to upgrade and collect weapons and there will be a variety of combat objectives and contextual events. Additionally, Nintendo World Report had the following to say:
”The combat is weapon-based as Mario and company can use guns for the first time (we can assume Yoshi's Safari doesn't count). 8 different characters can be used: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, and Rabbids dressed up as each of them. Combat is described as more tactical, and we've heard that it's more akin to a strategy RPG than what you might expect from a Mario RPG. On top of all that, the game can be played in co-op for two players as well.”
Check out the images below and tell us what you think. Treat this as a rumor for the time being as nothing is ever really official until a company comes out and publicly confirms it but it is looking like this could be the real deal. If that is the case will you be picking it up when it releases on the Switch later this year?
