Surviving Mars, the sci-fi city builder from Haemimont Games and Paradox Interactive, is getting put to the test in a livestream with former NASA astronaut, Dottie Metcalf-Lindenburger. On September 1st, Metcalf-Lindenburger will be joining in on a livestream from the Paradox Twitch channel at 6-7pm PST. She’ll be learning how to play Surviving Mars with Paradox’s Susie McBeth while she comments on how the game differs or coincides from what real astronauts face while exploring space.
Those interested in finding out more about the science behind Surviving Mars can attend the panel, “Surviving Mars for Real” at this year’s PAX West. The Museum of Flight, Haemimont Games, and space experts including Metcalf-Lindenburger, will be conducting a panel featuring analysis of the 2018 game, Surviving Mars, and discussion about the very real technological and psychological considerations that will go into colonizing Mars.
If you’re attending PAX West, you can visit on Saturday, September 1st, 2018 at 3-4pm PST in the Sphinx Theatre. Haemimont Games’ Bisser Dyankov, Producer and Game Designer for Surviving Mars, will be joined by former NASA Astronaut and Geologist, Dottie Metcalf-Lindenburger; Adjunct Curator for Space History at The Museum of Flight, Geoff Nunn; Physician and HI-SEAS IV Mars Analog Astronaut, Dr. Sheyna Gifford; Mars Geologist and Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity Science Team Collaborator; Dr. Tanya Harrison, and Docent Services Specialist at the Museum of Flight, Sean Mobley.
