News: PlayStation 4 gamers will be getting Earth Defense Force 5 a little later this year after a successful launch in Japan.

Earth Defense Force 5 will arrive in western markets this year according to D3 Publisher Inc. Following a successful launch in Japan, Earth Defense Force 5 finds players taking up arms to defend Earth against a hostile alien invasion. In addition to hordes of alien insect invaders the series is famous for, the next installment in the franchise also introduces a series-first with new humanoid aliens from the mysterious planet, Primer. Join the elite ranks of the EDF for an all-out war to protect peace on Earth -- and overcome the depths of despair of a world under siege with wisdom, courage, and fellow comrades.
