News: The world of Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to be pretty massive and will include many different areas to explore.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is approximately five weeks away. To help whet the appetite for Rockstar’s next big open world title they have released some information on some of the frontiers, cities, and towns that you will visit in the game.
The first location they revealed is Valentine. This is a tough town in the Heartlands and will offer auctions that attract traders, cowboys, ranchers, outlaws, gamblers, and prostitutes. Everyone shows up to Valentine to try and make some money and have a good time while doing it.
The next one is Saint Denis. This location is a gateway to North America. It has a trade route that spans the country. It is a location that is always busy with a melting pot of cultures. The people here include socialites, laborers, businessmen, sailors, thieves, and beggars who are all there trying to survive and make ends meet.
Then we have Mount Hagen which offers a different environment in the snowy Grizzlies of Ambarino. This location is in between Lake Isabella and Beartooth Beck. It provides the main pass through the western mountain range and eventually joins up with the Dakota River a little further south.
Another location you will come across is Rhodes. This is a town that is all prim and proper or at least that is how it looks from the outside. There is a lot of corruption in this area and a lot of tension as a result. This area has been involved in its own civil war for years between the Braithwaites and the Grays, two plantation families that are at war.
Throughout your journeys, you will also come across the small logging town of Strawberry. An eccentric fellow from the East Coast has recently moved in and is trying to transform the town into a cultural beacon to draw in tourists who will spend a lot of money. The people that live in this area aren’t really happy with those changes though.
Finally, there is Lagras. This is a small, remote settlement that is away from the hustle and bustle of some of the aforementioned locations. It is located in the Bayou Nwa, where the people are self-sufficient, for the most part. They are able to make a little money here and there from activities such as fishing, as well as being tour guides for travelers who want to explore the region.
With the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 quickly coming up, what do you think about these new areas? I’m sure there are many more but it sounds like there is going to be some good variety with the different locales in the game. Will you be picking up Red Dead Redemption 2 when it launches on October 26?
