The Final Fantasy VII Remake has reappeared with a brand new trailer. This new trailer shows off some of the gameplay that you can expect once this title is finally released. There were fears that the gameplay in this remake might be completely different than the original. I think this trailer alleviates those fears as, while it looks different, you can plainly see it is a JRPG with an attack command and more.
If somehow you have avoided Final Fantasy VII all of these years, the brief premise is below:
”Our adventure begins when a cold-hearted mercenary named Cloud Strife is hired to take part in a series of raids on ‘Mako’ energy reactors which his eco-warrior employers believe are draining the planet’s life-force. In the chaos that ensues, Cloud will make a discovery that will change his life, and the world, forever.”
In Final Fantasy VII, the world has fallen under the dominion of the Shinra Electric Power Company, a sinister corporation that has monopolized the planet's life force as Mako energy. Players will follow the story of the powerful ex-SOLDIER turned mercenary, Cloud, in an attempt to save the world from destruction, alongside the anti-Shinra resistance group Avalanche. Using character customization options to create fun and interesting combinations of their favorite party members, players can fight to save the planet and discover the truth about Cloud’s mysterious past.
The Final Fantasy VII remake was initially announced at the 2015 E3 during Sony’s press conference. It has been quite a while since we heard anything about this game but it appears to be coming along nicely. No release date or time frame was given in this new trailer, however, Square Enix said there would be more revealed next month. To me that says that they will be showing some more off at the 2019 E3 in Los Angeles. What that is remains to be seen but hopefully, it will be a release date and that release date won’t be too far away.
Check out the new trailer below and tell us what you think. Final Fantasy VII is currently available on all consoles and PC. Initially, back in 2015, it was said that the Final Fantasy VII Remake would be a timed exclusive on PlayStation 4. I’m not sure if that is still true in 2019 but for now we’ll operate under the assumption that it is and that it will eventually arrive on other platforms.
