News: We got a small glimpse into how the campaign is turning out for the direct sequel to the original Black Ops.

”Call

Today during the PlayStation 5 showcase Raven Software showed off a portion of one of the missions in the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. This is a direct sequel to the original Black Ops title and takes players back to the 1980s at the height of the Cold War. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War begins with the mission “Nowhere Left to Run”. In this particular mission you play as CIA Operative Alex Mason, who arrives in Trabzon with his fellow operatives, including Frank Woods and a new ally, Russell Adler.

During the gameplay shown at the event you are trying to take out a group of terrorists but something goes wrong and you shoot the wrong person. You then need to scramble and chase down an airplane before it takes off and your target gets away. You sprint over to the back of a truck and get in while your allies race toward the airplane. It is your job to make sure that plane doesn’t leave and to get that mission done however you can. In this instance, you take control of an RC car that is strapped with explosives. You drive it underneath the airplane and right before it is set to take off you detonate it to destroy the high value target in the plane and the cargo on board. That is all that was shown but it was enough to see that fans are in for another wild ride in a couple of months.

Raven also reminded us that PlayStation 4 gamers can get a taste of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer through an exclusive Alpha weekend, complete with multiple modes, maps, and a preview of some of the game’s systems. You can pre-load this beginning on September 17th at 8 a.m. Pacific. The Alpha itself begins on September 18th at 10 a.m. Pacific and will conclude on September 20th at 10 a.m. Pacific.
