News: A new tropical adventure is on the way to to PlayStation 5 next year inspired by the islands of New Caledonia.

”Tchia”

Awaceb shared the new tropical adventure trailer of Tchia today during the PlayStation Showcase. Equally exciting is the news that Awaceb has partnered with Sony and Epic Games to help bring Tchia to audiences in 2022.

“A lot has happened since The Game Awards reveal of Tchia in December.” shared Awaceb co-founder Phil Crifo. “While we were hard at work on our game, our partnership with Google Stadia ended up not working out. Thankfully, PlayStation and Epic Games reached out soon after. They were super excited about the game, and our visions aligned perfectly. We all agreed that Tchia would be a great fit on both platforms!”

The new trailer shared today gives fans a glimpse of the charming world of Tchia, with exploration, ukulele playing, friendship, and object morphing at the core of Awaceb’s direction.

Tchia, the game’s name and the name of the lead, is a young lady who’ll go on an incredible journey of discovery and growth across a fantastical world inspired by the islands of New Caledonia. The team at Awaceb is based out of Bordeaux, France but many are from New Caledonia which helped them share this love letter to their home. Players will get to experience New Caledonia’s rich culture and tradition through Tchia’s adventure and confront an ominous threat looming over the islands.

The single-player, story-driven Tchia gameplay experience will be flush with adventure, exploration, action and stealth, epic story moments, and intimate character interactions. At its core, Tchia is inspired by classic and contemporary open-world adventures and the final tapestry is one the wide gaming community will want to take note of.

Check out the trailer below and tell us what you think. Will you be picking up Tchia?
