News: The next entry in the Forza Motorsport series will only be for the current generation of Xbox consoles and PC.

”Forza

Forza is a massive franchise for Microsoft and has been the top racing series for quite some time now. At the Xbox Showcase earlier today the next entry, Forza Motorsport, was showcased and it appears that Turn 10 has upped the ante once again. They claim that it is the most technically advanced racing game ever made and after watching the video you’ll see what they mean.

Forza Motorsport has been built from the ground up for the Xbox Series X|S. What that means is that it will not be available for Xbox One so if you want to play it on Xbox, you’ll need one of the current generation consoles. Forza Motorsport will feature overhauled physics, a new dynamic time of day cycle, stunning cars and tracks, real-time ray tracing, advanced car damage, and much more.

The video that you can see below was captured on Xbox Series X hardware. It shows off the popular location Maple Valley alongside fan-favorite tracks like Laguna Seca Raceway and Spa-Francorchamps. They also revealed a South African track making its debut in the Forza Franchise with Kyalami Grand Prix and a new circuit set in Japan.

The new dynamic time of day system will affect how races play out as well. Different times of day will have different temperatures which could affect the conditions of the courses. What this means is your car might grip the track one way in the morning but in an entirely different way at night. The environments in Forza Motorsport have been captured using photogrammetry and 3D material scans while using advanced rendering and procedural generation techniques. As a result, Turn 10 has stated that the grass, rocks, 3D vegetation, skies, and clouds will be a “generational leap” both in beauty and detail. The forward+ lighting and physically based lights also come together to help the realism and immersion as you are racing through these beautiful environments.

Turn 10 has also apparently overhauled the core driving experience. They stated this includes a “48 times improvement” in the fidelity of the physics simulation. There are new levels of management as well from tire and fuel management, multiple tire compounds, and new in-depth car building. Above we mentioned advanced car damage in the game. It has been reproduced to the individual scratches on the bodywork in Forza Motorsport.
