News: Sony has secured a timed console exclusivity period for the return of popular horror franchise, Silent Hill.

Konami has just revealed that Silent Hill is back, and back in a big way. Konami recently held a “Silent Hill Transmission” where they revealed the long-rumored Silent Hill 2 remake. Interestingly enough, this remake seems to have timed console exclusivity on the PlayStation 5, in addition to being released on PC. Bloober Team is the development team behind this remake and if that name sounds familiar, it should. They are the same team of people that are responsible for Layers of Fear, Blair Witch, and The Medium.

It appears this will be a true remake with it being built from the ground up utilizing some modern concepts to bring Silent Hill 2 to the current generation of consoles. It has also been revealed that some members from the original Silent Hill team will be involved as well. More specifically, composer Akira Yamaoka and artist Masahiro Ito.

It appears that this remake will be initially available on PlayStation 5 and PC. Sony has secured a one-year exclusivity time period so if you are primarily an Xbox player, you’ll have to wait at least an additional year from release before you are able to play it on your chosen platform.

In addition to the Silent Hill 2 Remake being announced, some other projects were revealed as well. There will be Silent Hill Townfall which is being developed by No Code studio as well as Silent Hill F which is being developed by Neobards Entertainment. Additionally, there appear to be plans of another Silent Hill movie that will focus on the story of Silent Hill 2.

No release date has been given for any of these projects but check out the Silent Hill showcase below and tell us what you think. Are you excited to return to Silent Hill?
