News: A new city building simulator set in ancient China during the Zhao Song Dynasty becomes available next week.

”Thriving

Developer White Star Studio and publisher IndieArk have revealed that their historical city-building sim, Thriving City: Song, is launching into Steam Early Access on April 21st. Set in beautiful ancient China during the Zhao Song Dynasty, Thriving City: Song puts players into the shoes of a mayor tasked with helping their townsfolk settle into their new home. Manage your town, keep everyone happy, and experience the rise and fall of the Empire in the game’s in-depth Story Mode.

Thriving City: Song is much more than just a city-builder. With a beautiful art style inspired by ancient historical China, players will be immersed in a bustling city as they cultivate the land and expand as much as they can for the comfort of their people. Carefully control agriculture, commerce, politics, and civil affairs, which are closely linked. Create thriving markets and public buildings to attract tourists and balance the town’s fiscal revenue.

With any new city comes its challenges. As players progress, they must find ways to deal with conflicts between factions, the spread of the plague, and natural disasters. Players can summon Gods to receive powerful buffs that make a huge difference when things get difficult. Start small, manage, plan, and execute to build a city from just a few citizens to over 2,000.

Players that dive into Early Access will be able to experience the following:

  • Up to 60 hours of content - With two tutorial levels to gain familiarity with the game’s main concepts and three levels of War Mode—including the story of the Northern Song Dynasty—players will have plenty to do.

  • Endless Mode - Those who wish to stretch their creative muscles can jump into Endless Mode and experience 18 maps with over 90 types of buildings.

  • Additional content - Throughout Early Access, players can expect four more levels added to War Mode, more game systems, and the addition of the Workshop.

  • Some of the game features that you can look forward to once Thriving City: Song launches:

  • Experience the History of the Song Dynasty: Learn more about the Song Dynasty by interacting with the game’s detailed world through reference museums and historical records.

  • Intricate Buildings and Characters: Build beautiful historic-looking buildings, including markets, Buddhist and Taoist temples, homes, and more.

  • Control Your Resources: Manage agriculture, industry, commerce, science, technology, civil affairs, politics, and more to create a thriving town.

  • Keep Townsfolk Happy: Use the game's Happiness System to monitor your townspeople and keep everyone positive during difficult times.

  • Prepare for Disasters: Use resources to prepare for many different types of disasters, including plague, invasion, devastating storms, and more.

  • Beautiful Art Style: Enjoy the game’s colorful and historical-inspired landscapes, buildings, townspeople, and more with the game’s unique art style.

  • Thriving City: Song is set to launch into Steam Early Access on April 21st for $18.99 USD with a 10% discount for a limited time. Do you plan on checking it out?
