Nintendo just held their “E3” showcase with a new Nintendo Direct and it had quite a few surprises for gamers. Square Enix had a pretty big presence there as well and showed off the progress of one highly anticipated title, while also announcing two others. The games that were shown include the following:
Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake
The Legacy Begins. Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake is a reimagining of the beloved masterpiece and narrative beginning to The Erdrick Trilogy. Featuring vibrant HD-2D graphics, new and modernized features, and a refined narrative, players are invited to set out on an epic fantasy adventure to save the world from a dark evil.
Rebuilt for modern audiences, Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake gives existing fans the chance to re-experience a beloved RPG experience and its expanded offerings like never before, while also being a perfect starting point for newcomers to discover one of the most influential RPG franchises in gaming history. Pre-orders are now available for the standard physical or digital edition, as well as the Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake Collector’s Edition. Anyone who pre-orders will receive a free Trouble-Free Travel Kit in the game, which contains a collection of in-game items.

Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remaster

Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven
Romancing SaGa 2 will return on October 24 as the full HD remake Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven. Developed by the team behind Trials of Mana, this ground-up remake and standalone story will feature modern visuals, reworked strategic gameplay and various other enhancements that will delight longtime SaGa fans and newcomers alike. In anticipation of the game’s release this fall, pre-orders are available today across all available platforms.
In Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven, players will embark on a multi-generation adventure to protect and expand their empire. After the player’s homeland is attacked by one of the legendary Seven Heroes, a branching story of vengeance and redemption will unfold where the player must fight to protect everything they hold dear. With the free-form scenario system the SaGa franchise is known for, the player’s choices will impact how the story develops, including who inherits the imperial throne with each successive generation.
