First Impressions: Stupidest video game yet

When was the last time you laughed through a whole video game? How many times have you even laughed during a videogame? Well this game is about to change all that. Stupid Invaders has fart jokes, explosions, and alien mishaps, what else does a video game need? How about a fully interactive environment and five stupid aliens. Is that enough to heed your video game desires? Well there is even more, read on to find out.

This game is lightly based off of the Space Goofs animated series; Stupid Invaders is out to tackle your funny bone in a non-stop laugh fest. The plot of the game focuses on five aliens named Gorgeous (the ugly one), Candy (the oldest one), Stereo (has two heads), Etno (the dumb one), and finally Bud (Old and stupid). For some reason one day these five aliens decide to build a space ship and go to earth, however, these aliens are not what you would call educated extraterrestrials. Well, these five aliens go off and start flying around in space and crash into earth. Your job in this game is to is to help them rebuild their ship, and to escape the mad scientist Dr. Sakarin, who intends to throw them all into jars of formaldehyde.

The first thing you will notice about the game is the stunning graphics. This game perfectly mixes its 3-D environment with stunning cinematic scenes. You will be able to see amazing animations you're just not used to seeing, such as curtains swaying in the wind, bugs buzzing around over your head, and the characters walk gracefully as if they were real. All of this is moving around your TV screen at an amazing 60 frames per second. The game also uses over 2000 lines of sidesplitting dialogue from the voice talents from fox's hit TV show Futurama.

Stupid Invaders is a lot like Shenmue, the fact that you can interact with everything you see. Stupid Invaders will span over 3 chapters and has around 120 locations for you to explore with puzzles to solve in each. The game also has over 50 unique characters for your little aliens to interact with. During the game, you will have to due heavy exploration to uncover everything that you will need to progress in the game.

Stupid Invaders is using the old point and click method for getting around and searching. This is music to the ears for some, and a dreaded harmony for others. The only thing I saw wrong with it is the precision it takes when grabbing an object. Nothing more frustrating than thinking that you completely searched an area only to find out you missed something. I hope that Ubi Soft can fix this before the game hits the stores.

Final Thoughts
This game has sleeper hit written all over it. When I first saw the title I was scared away from buying it, yet intrigued about what it was. After I had a chance to look thru the game and read about it, I was truly impressed with what Ubi Soft has done. If this isn't a game on your to-buy list, add it, or at least rent it and give it a shot, you won't regret it.
