News: Buena Vista Games begins work on several new games powered by Unreal Engine 3.
A few months back we learned that Buena Vista Games (AKA Disney) had picked the Turok license from Acclaim's corporate corpse. Now we know that development on the title is well under way and that it will be using Epic's Unreal Engine 3.
The new Turok is being developed by Propaganda Games for several unknown next-generation systems and will be the first Turok game released since 2002's Turok: Evolution for the PS2, Xbox, GameCube and GBA.
"We have ambitious goals for the future and a strategy to enhance Buena Vista Games' position as a major force in interactive entertainment. BVG's intellectual properties, combined with Epic's leadership in underlying technology, ensures the best game content for consumers," said Michael Ryder, vice president of worldwide production, Buena Vista Games.
"Licensing Unreal Engine 3 is a strategic move to provide cost-effective and timely delivery of new content, allowing our development teams to leverage the enormous capabilities of emerging next-generation systems," he concluded.
Buena Vista also said that they have several other projects on the drawing board that will use Unreal Engine 3 technology.
