News: SimTower is reborn.

SimTower was one of those games that I heard countless people rave about back in the day. The premise was just SimCity, only crammed into a giant high-rise. Place homes, businesses, walkways, etc and watch your tower grow. I never did find a copy.

But this March Sega is giving me another chance as they're bringing Vivarium's The Tower SP to American GBAs.

Vivarium is home to Yoot Saito, the developer of the original PC SimTower and The Tower SP is basically a straight port. The game includes all of the features my friends used to talk about:

  • Countless ways to build your tower! Do you want a low-budget building with affordable living, or a condo-filled skyscraper? You decide!

  • Stress-free living. Your every decision affects tenant satisfaction level! Lines at elevators, sauna availability, rental costs and restroom placement - lower stress within the community means more money in your pocket.

  • Real life events. A fire breaks out, thieves are everywhere, cockroaches just will not die ? prevent and control life's unexpected occurrences!

  • Apartments, condos or offices? Decide on rent prices for apartments, suites, condos and offices. Don't forget to include the cleaning rooms, hotel facilities and housekeeping to keep those pests away!

  • Numerous other features! Create fast food and retail shops, movie theaters, elevators and even saunas to increase tenant population and profits while overseeing financial reports to monitor expenses and make decisions.

If that's not enough to get you excited, check out the first five screens.

OK, maybe it's just me then.
