News: The DC/Vertigo comic is now in the hands of D3 Publisher.

D3 Publisher has announced they've struck a deal with Warner Brothers Interactive to create games based on the comic book 100 Bullets.

100 Bullets features interconnected stories of random individuals being handed a gun and 100 "untraceable" bullets to take revenge on some who has wronged them. The comic was previously in development at Acclaim for a 2004 release, but the project was canceled when Acclaim went bankrupt.

The first 100 Bullets will be coming to unknown consoles sometime in the Summer of 2007.

Naturally, everyone involved in the deal was very pleased:

?100 BULLETS has all the elements necessary to translate exceptionally well into video games,? said David Hope, Managing Director of D3PE. ?We look forward to bringing the unique characters and storyline of 100 BULLETS to life with the latest interactive technology and graphics and will work closely with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Comics/Vertigo to maintain the authenticity consumers demand.?

?Taking the thrilling story elements and incredible action from the 100 BULLETS comic series and incorporating explosive gameplay will make an exciting game for fans and gamers,? said Scott Johnson, vice president of business development for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. ?Working with D3PE and DC Comics/Vertigo, we will utilize the source material to give players the authentic feel they are looking for.?

"100 BULLETS is an innovative crime-noir series that combines powerful story telling with non-stop action, and will be a great addition to the gaming world," said John Nee, vice president of business development for DC Comics. "We look forward to working with both D3PE and Warner Interactive Entertainment on this exciting new project."

We'll have more soon.
