Patch 1.3 released for Introversion's DEFCON @ Gaming Target

News: Everybody might die, but Introversion has got your back.

Yesterday, Introversion Software released a major patch for their retro nuke-the-world RTS (and 52 Games We'll Still Be Playing From 2006 selection) DEFCON. In addition to bug fixes, the patch adds an exciting new game mechanic: a whiteboard that players can use to communicate with teammates. Chris Delay, Introversion's lead designer and developer had this to say about the new feature: УYou can draw your battle plans directly onto the World Map and share those plans with your allies. Or play tic-tac-toe over the Atlantic if you feel like it.Ф

In a related story, Introversion is currently working on a major update to last year's Darwinia. The update is reported to include new gameplay features, support for the Xbox 360 game controller, and an overhaul to the graphics rendering engine. Players interested in helping test the patch should scoot on over to the Introversion website. Darwinia took home the grand prize at the 2006 Independent Games Festival.
