News: SNK Playmore has shipped the seven title compilation.

Fans of the run-and-gun video game franchise Metal Slug can now celebrate the 2D series' 10th anniversary by doing a little bit of running and gaming themselves on PSP.

Metal Slug Anthology, the new handheld compilation released for PlayStation Portable today, features seven games: Metal Slug, Metal Slug 2, Metal Slug X, Metal Slug 3, Metal Slug 4, Metal Slug 5 and Metal Slug 6. Each allows players to set the aspect ratio to the original 4:3 or 16:9 in order to take advantage of PSP's side-scrolling-suitable widescreen capabilities. Local Wi-Fi multiplayer also enhances this port perfect experience with wireless 2-player ad hoc gameplay.

A Wii version of the game released in December 2006 and a PS2 version is still scheduled to ship in April.
