News: The Xbox 360 version is receiving its own collector's edition, but it's not as hard boiled as the PS3 package.
Midway may have aready announced an "exclusive" PS3 Collector's Edition for Stranglehold, but Xbox 360 is still getting its own special edition of the game. So how does releasing a collector's edition for 360 make the PS3 exclusive? Well, missing from the Xbox 360's bonus disc "jam-packed with extras" is the 1992 John Woo film Hard Boiled. This is going to be released on the same Blu-Ray disc as the PS3 game if you buy that version.
The Xbox 360 collector's edition includes:
Poetry In Slow Motion - Behind-the-scenes documentary on Midway bringing the style of John Woo to video games.
Extended Cinematic Sequences - Extended scenes which didn't make it into the final game.
MTV Studio Visit - Follow MTV visit with the game team during crunch time.
The Vision of Stranglehold - See the progression from concept art to final game.
The Sound of Stranglehold - An insiders look at sounds design.
The collector's edition will be available in limited quantity at select retailers for a suggested retail price in the U.S. of $69.95 (same price as the PS3 version), available August 2007. Gaming Target will have more on both versions of Stranglehold as that release month nears.
