News: Surfer Girl weighs on in on the next Wolfenstein, new Spider-Man, Call of Duty 5 and Wall-E
Surfer Girl has posted some more of her patented scoops, and once again, the pile feels a little on actual items the gaming world didn't already know about.
So here's what Surfer Girl had to say in a post entitled December fourth things.
Surfer Girls says: "Wolfenstein is coming late summer/early next fall for PS360 and PC."
Our verdict: Old News. Id revealed that themselves at this year's QuakeCon.
Surfer Girls says: Treyarch is currently working three titles that will see release next fall, Spider-Man: Red vs. Black "featuring an original plotline chronicling one of the comic world's greatest rivalries," Call of Duty 5 "a historical shooter that introduces many innovative ideas never-before-seen in the series that will excite fans," and James Bond 007 (working title) "an explosive action game with a strong online component that lives up to the legacy of the greatest action character of all-time" that will be the first of annual releases.
Our verdict: 2 Old News and an Obvious Guess. Let's take these in reverse order:
Treyarch was announced as the development team behind the next Bond game a long time ago.
The company also worked on Call of Duty 3 in 2006 and with Activision announcing Call of Duty 5 for next year, why wouldn't they be working on it?
The only really "new" piece of info is the next Spider-Man game and her scoop is very specific. It's entirely possible that's the title, but a Spider-Man game coming out next year, developed by Treyarch (who has done the last four major Spider-Man games), is not a stretch.
Surfer Girls says: "Plans for a PS3-exclusive Far Cry title has been trashed in favor of Far Cry 2 for next-gen consoles."
Our verdict: Obvious Guess. This is Ubisoft we're talking about. If Far Cry 2 doesn't come to the next-gen consoles, I'll eat my 360's hard drive.
Surfer Girls says: "Heavy Iron is working on WALL-E for PSWii60, DSP and PS2."
Our verdict: Obvious Guess. Heavy Iron has made the last three non-driving games based on Pixar movies. Why wouldn't they be working on the next one as well?
The Scorecard (Today): 3 bits of Old News and 3 Obvious Guesses.
The Scorecard (Overall): 9 Obvious Guesses, 5 bits of Old News and 1 Possibility.
