News: But the Booth Babes will once again stay home.
The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) announced today that the 2008 E3 Media & Business Summit will be returning to the Los Angeles Convention Center.
While the E3 show will be returning to its former stomping grounds, the ESA was adament that the show "will not feature the large trade show environment of previous years." Instead, E3 2008 will be set up very similar to last year's show in Santa Monica, with small meetings between publishers, developers and journalists in "suite-based meetings."
Many attendees of E3 2007 felt the show's spread out nature (meetings were held in several hotels that were sometimes miles apart) hampered their ability to see as much as they could. With a return to LA, the ESA hopes to make E3 2008 much smoother to navigate for everyone.
"We look forward to welcoming the media and top industry executives to a centralized, business focused and personalized experience. Our program of high-level meetings, networking and personal dialogue, and industry-shaping panel discussions will capture the explosive growth we have seen in 2007 and lay the foundation for the 2008 video game marketplace," said ESA CEO Michael D. Gallagher.
The 2008 E3 Media & Business Summit will be held from July 15-17, 2008.
