News: Surfer Girl says 'bah humbug' to Christmas cheer and throws down some less than credible rumors.

Surfer Girl spent Christmas morning posting new rumors for all good fanboys and girls to drool over and once again we at Gaming Target have decided to separate the truth from the truthiness with our review of Surfer Girl's shenanigans.

So here's what Surfer Girl had to say in a post entitled December twenty-fifth things and what we had to say about her.

Surfer Girl says: "SSX 5 is dead, rivalry between fall 2008 PS360 snowboarding titles of Montreal studios still existent."

Our verdict: Possibility. Since there never was an announcement of SSX 5, it can't be dead in the strictest sense of the word. Maybe EA canceled it, maybe they didn't. But no one will ever really know for sure if they did. But a "get your snowboard ready" comment in the Burnout Paradise demo lead many people to believe SSX 5 is happening. We'll see.

Surfer Girl says: "The Mother/Earthbound series is coming to Wii and/or DS stateside, very possibly next year."

Our verdict: Possibility. Nintendo President Reggie Fils-Aime has repeatedly said Mother 3 is not coming to America. For a title that is so clearly wanted by so many gamers, the hypemasters at Nintendo would have announced it long ago. In my opinion, it's not happening, but again, anything's possible.

Surfer Girl says: "Team Ico is working on two titles (maybe three), one major and the other(s) smaller. The smaller one(s) is/are more like Echochrome and does/do not take place inside the Ico canon."

Our verdict: Old News. Sony long ago announced Team Ico is working on multiple PS3 titles. That's all we knew then and that's all we know now.

Surfer Girl says: "Kane & Lynch 2 is still happening."

Our verdict: Obvious Guess. Controversial firing + Unrealized potential + Awesome main characters = Sure-fire sequel to Kane & Lynch.

Surfer Girl says "Also to look forward to next year is "Shrek going to unprecedented video game territory." Using skills of deduction, it is either a music title or a quality title. It is fairly obvious that the latter is definite no, so it probably a musical title."

Our verdict: Obvious Guess. Activision has pumped out a new Shrek game every year since the second movie. And considering that Activision publishes Guitar Hero and the fact that the Shrek movies feature a lot of music makes this one obvious.

Surfer Girl says: "Even more exciting unprecedented occurrence in interactive entertainment is the release of a new Leisure Suit Larry title and a new Sex & the City titles in the same year for mobile communication tools, computing devices and other things."

Our verdict: Old News. Comedian Artie Lange talked about his involvement in a new Larry game months ago. There are also already three Sex and the City mobile games at HBO.com.

Surfer Girl says: "A2M is working on Indiana Jones for people who cannot stand to play consoles with the number three in the name--DS/Wii/PS2/PSP."

Our verdict: Old News. A2M's involvement in a DS version of Indiana Jones was revealed long ago and a PSP version has been long rumored to be in the works. Ergo, PS2 and Wii versions could easily spring from that version as well.

Surfer Girl says "EA's Wii Balance Board title ain't SSX."

Our verdict: Possibility. We don't know anything about any future Balance Board games. If EA ever makes a Balance Board game that has nothing to do with SSX, Surfer Girl could say she's right. Wow, that's some grade A detective work right there.

Surfer Girl says: "When is Rage coming out? Second half of 2009."

Our verdict: Old News. Id never revealed a release date for Rage and id never moves quickly on anything. Of course it's coming in 2009 (or later).
