News: Crysis on consoles? It's looking more likely now.

Crytek, the developers of the original Far Cry and Crysis, have announced they will be showing off a new version of the CryEngine 2, the technology behind Crysis, at next month's Game Developer's Conference. This will be a closed door presentation, so if you're not on the list a very angry German bodyguard will no doubt make sure you don't see the console version of CryEngine 2.

It should be noted that this is not an announcement revealing console versions of Crysis. That may come in time, but as of right now, Crytek is not talking about any CryEngine 2-powered Xbox 360 and PS3 games.

The company also said they would be hosting a presentation detailing how it is possible to build a $600 that can handle the "fully optimized" Crysis.

We'll have more soon.
