Championship Gaming Series completes their 2008 draft @ Gaming Target

News: Video gaming league is ready to launch their second season.

Over the weekend, the Championship Gaming Series held their draft for the 2008 season. Each of the league's six teams was able to protect four players and one additional "Franchise Player." Everyone else, along with new talent, was eligible for the 2008 draft. The first overall selection was made by the Dallas Venom, who selected Justin "MuFFiNMaN" Anderson, a Forza Motorsport 2 player.

"The 2008 North America Draft brought tremendous new talent into the league and we're very proud of everyone who was selected," said CGS Commissioner Andy Reif. "Although the GMs made some tough choices and a number of great players did not make the cut, our six North America teams picked the next generation of pro gaming stars tonight in Austin. This was a perfect kickoff to the 2008 season and this year is going to be an historic year for CGS."

The draft is available for viewing at TheCGS.com now and it will be broadcast on Direct TV's The 101 soon.
