News: Mario picks up his bat once more.
Where does Mario get the energy? Maybe I should try these mushroom things he is always eating. First he is scaling the galaxy, then he participates in the Olympics, then he is brawling, later this month he will racing karts, and now is playing baseball. At Nintendo's Media Summit in San Fransisco today, Nintendo of America showed off Mario Super Sluggers in demo form by producer, Bill Trinen.
Like in Wii Sports, Mario Super Sluggers will use the Wii Remote to simulate actions performed in baseball. Unlike Wii Sports, Mario Super Sluggers will be taking the controls to a new level by allowing player to control the outfielders, something that you couldn't do in Wii Sports. Batting and pitching are also performed in a similar manner as Wii Sports except Sluggers adds a Mario-themed twist, such as adding fire to a pitch by holding the A and B buttons as you throw or by pulling back on the bat before you swing to cause the ball to be engulfed in flames so that anyone who catches it lights of fire.
Mario Super Sluggers is scheduled for a June release in Japan, while the North American release has not yet been announced.
