News: Ryu Hayabusa brings his sword back to the PS3 and he's bringing Ayane with him.

Even after being partially published by Microsoft, Tecmo has announced that the formerly Xbox 360-exclusive Ninja Gaiden II will be released on the PlayStation 3 this Fall as Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.

Like the first Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Sigma 2 will be an enhanced port of Ninja Gaiden II that will contain a bunch of extras. These extras will include new weapons (apparently a giant hammer called Genma), new boss battles and the ability to play as Ayane from the Dead or Alive series (Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive share the same universe).

The announcement came from an article in the Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, with Tecmo later confirming the game would be coming to America as well. An "official" unveiling was originally set for next week's Game Developer's Conference.

We'll have more soon.
