News: For a minute there, I was worried Infinity Ward was about to do something stupid.
Robert Bowling, the Community Manager for Infinity Ward, has updated his Twitter page with the news that the official boxart for Modern Warfare 2 has come back from the printers. At first glance, the boxart looks very similar to Infinity Ward's first Modern Warfare title. But on closer inspection, something very important has been re-added to the cover: the Call of Duty name.
Yes, after months of insisting the game would only be known as "Modern Warfare 2", someone at Infinity Ward or Activision has put their foot down and decreed the game will be known as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
I say... it's about time. Dropping the franchise moniker of the biggest selling multiplatform game of this generation would have been the dumbest move Activision/Infinity Ward could have made.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be released on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 10.
