News: We can be heroes, just for one day... but we still wouldn't have time for every new Guitar Hero game.
After announcing the game several months ago, Activision has revealed a little bit more about their "family-friendly" entry in the Guitar Hero series, Band Hero. The game will focus on top 40 music that the whole family can enjoy while featuring the familiar gameplay of the Guitar Hero series:
Band Hero delivers an exciting music collection featuring top-40 hits, including No Doubt, Lily Allen, The All-American Rejects, Snow Patrol and Jackson 5, designed to expand the experience to a new genre and appeal to a broad family audience who can play together on the guitar, drums, bass and microphone. The game builds upon Guitar Hero's easy-to-play, difficult-to-master signature gameplay and allows novice players and expert fans to join together on their favourite songs. Band Hero supports all Guitar Hero instrument controllers, as well as other music/rhythm game controllers.
It sounds exactly like every other Guitar Hero game, so why "Band Hero" required a complete break from the "Guitar Hero" name is beyond me. The title almost makes it sound like a knockoff game instead of an official spinoff.
Band Hero will be available for the DS, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii and Xbox 360 on November 17. More details about the game (including a first look at the new Drum Grip peripheral for the DS) can be found at the game's official website:

We'll have more soon.
