I Am Alive

News: I Am Alive and the next Ghost Recon have also been delayed.

As part of their quarterly financial report, Ubisoft has announced that the release dates of four games previously scheduled for this Fall have been delayed. But on the bright side, the company also confirmed that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash-Up will be coming to the PlayStation 2 this Fall in addition to the Wii.

As for the delays, Ubisoft has confirmed that Red Steel 2 for the Wii and the PC and Xbox 360-exclusive Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction will both be released sometime in the first quarter of 2010 (January 1 - March 30). Both games had previously been penciled in for Fall 2009 releases.

Two other games tentatively set for early 2010 have been pushed back even further. The long-in-development I Am Alive (PC, PS3, Xbox 360) and the next game in the Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon series will now be released sometime in the Fall of 2010. Both games have been shrouded in secrecy, so this news is not exactly surprising.

All of these delays come on the heels of a 50% drop in sales for Ubisoft from the same quarter last year. So while the company didn't give a reason for the delays, it's likely because they needed a little more time in the developmental oven.

We'll have more soon.
