News: Two years later, Wii owners finally get a chance to play one of the best shooters of this generation.
Activision has announced that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, which was released for the DS, PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2007, will finally come to the Wii this November. Retitled Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the game will be released on November 10, the same day the DS, PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 will receive Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
The Wii port of Modern Warfare will be handled by Treyarch, the same team behind last year's entry in the series, Call of Duty: World at War.
Because it's likely that Activision wants to downplay the gap between Modern Warfare's original release and the Wii port, that was all they chose to announce at this time. The press release didn't even contain any of the standard self-congratulatory quotes from executives about how awesome Modern Warfare on the Wii will be.
We'll keep you posted when Activision does finally decide to reveal more.
