News: The Force is strong with the Virtual Console.
Nintendo has announced they've partnered with LucasArts to and plan to bring the company's classic games to the Virtual Console. This alliance will launch with LucasArts' first Super NES, Super Star Wars, which was added to the Virtual Console today. In the coming weeks, Super Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi will also be added to Nintendo's retro service. LucasArts plans to release additional games on the Virtual Console sometime in the future, but they did not say which of their classic titles will get the VC treatment (come on, Zombies Ate My Neighbors!).
Star Wars will extend further into Nintendo's Wii empire with appearance on the Check Mii Out Channel and the Everybody Votes Channel. Check Mii Out users will be invited to create their best Star Wars-inspired Miis while Everybody Votes users will settle the debate once and for all... who shot first: Han Solo or Greedo?
In addition to Super Star Wars, two WiiWare titles were added to the Wii Shop today:
NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits, a game with a mythological twist, and
Rock N' Roll Climber, a rock climbing game from Nintendo that optionally uses the Balance Board.
A new DSiWare game was added the DSiWare Shop this week as well.
Brain Age Express: Arts & Letters brings more Brain Age to the DSi, this time with an artistic focus.
For more on all of these games, check out the descriptions provided by Nintendo below.
