News: A new way to play Fable II is coming this September.

In addition to the news that Fable III is in development, Microsoft has also announced that they will be returning to the world of Fable II.

Fable II will be added to the Xbox 360's new Games on Demand service on September 29 in an episodic format known as Fable II: Game Episodes. The game's story will be split into five chapters and the first, in which players will experience childhood and the trials of being a young adult in the world of Albion, will be offered as a free download. The episodic version of the game will be fully compatible with the two downloadable add-ons, Knothole Island and See the Future, as well as with the disc-based version. This means ame saves can be shared between the Games on Demand version and the disc-based version.

УWith the launch of Games on Demand on Xbox Live, we have a great tool in place to deliver classic titles in an incredibly convenient fashion,Ф said Phil Spencer, general manager of Microsoft Game Studios. УWith the СFable II' episodic model, we're encouraging people to experience the first chapter of the game for free, then move onto other chapters when they are ready. It's a unique model and one that will appeal to gamers who've been hesitant to dive full into the original retail release.Ф

No pricing or release dates were revealed for the final four episodes.
