News: Harmonix talks about the future of Rock Band at GamesCom.

Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopulos brought the house down at GamesCom 2009 in Cologne, Germany as he revealed what the company has planned for Rock Band for the rest of the year.

First, he revealed that the Rock Band Store would swell to 1,000 songs (it currently sits at about 800) by the end of the year. Among the 200 tracks that will make the cut include new track packs from Queen, Nirvana, Tom Petty, Elton John, Iggy Pop, The White Stripes, Pantera, Talking Heads, Korn and The Raconteurs.

Rigopulos also revealed the release dates for the three full albums that will be made available for The Beatles: Rock Band this year. The 17 tracks from Abbey Road will be added to the Rock Band Store on October 20. It will be followed by Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band in November and Rubber Soul in December.

Pricing for Abbey Road was also revealed, and it looks like it'll follow the standard Rock Band pricing scheme of $1.99/200 Wii Points/160 Microsoft Points per track.
