News: But will we attack the Kraken for massive damage?
When Brash Entertainment went belly up, it left behind a handful of in-development projects. Some have found homes and some have not. At GamesCom, Namco Bandai announced that they were coming to the rescue to the game adaptation of next year's Clash of the Titans. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 game will be released alongside the remake's theater debut, which is set for March 26, 2010.
The game of Clash of the Titans will feature a story that takes place parallel to the story of the movie. Namco Bandai is keeping the game's main character under wraps, so Perseus (the role that launched Harry Hamlin's career and who will be played by Sam Worthington in the remake) may only be a secondary character in the game.
But whoever players will be playing as, Clash of the Titans will offer plenty of mythological beasts to beat up including Medusa, the Kraken, Hades and Zeus.
"Clash of the Titans will be the movie event of 2010, and we are thrilled to be releasing a video game inspired by the film," said Tomoaki Nanjo, the producer of the videogame at Namco Bandai Games. "Thanks to the incredibly talented team at Game Republic, we are confident Clash of the Titans will surpass all expectations of a traditional movie-based game, bringing Greek mythology into the players' hands like never before."
Clash of the Titans is being devloped by Game Republic, the team behind the
Genji series on the PS2 and PS3 and
Folklore for the PS3.
We'll have more soon.
