News: Will it live up to the hype? Can it?

James Cameron has claimed that when he releases Avatar in theaters this December, it will revolutionize computer graphics in film and 3D effects in particular. A game adaptation of the same name is also in development at Ubisoft Montreal and Cameron has said the same 3D effects that are present in the movie will make their way into the game.

So as you can imagine, the hype train for this one is running wild.

At GamesCom 2009, Cameron and Ubisoft unveiled the first trailer for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game, which is officially known as James Cameron's Avatar: The Game. Be sure and take a look at the trailer below, and also be sure and check out the first trailer for the Avatar movie, which can be found at Apple.com right now.

Avatar will be coming to the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 with 3D stereoscopic graphics on November 24. The game will also be available for the DS, PSP and Wii on the same day.
