News: Kratos wages war on the PS3 this holiday season.

Sony has announced that PlayStation 3 owners who have been dying to play the God of War in glorious HD will soon have the chance this holiday season when the God of War Collection is released.

Collecting both God of War and God of War II, the collection will enhance and upgrade the graphics of two of the last generation's prettiest games to 720p high definition. This will be accomplished by taking the original graphics and reworking them to display at a full 1280 x 720 resolution using anti-aliased graphics. The remakes will also run at a smooth 60 frames per second.

Best of all, PS3 Trophy support will be added to both games.

УWe are excited today to announce God of War Collection,Ф said Scott Rohde, vice president, Worldwide Studios America. УOur fans spoke and we listened; thanks to our partnership with Bluepoint Games, fans and newcomers to the series can experience the epic God of War and God of War II saga in stunning 720p on PS3. This Blu-ray Disc compilation brings Kratos to PS3 even earlier than expected.Ф

Developed by Bluepoint Games (the team behind the PSN title Blast Factor) in collaboration with SCEA's Santa Monica Studio, this collection of Kratos' first two adventures will be offered on a single Blu-Ray disc for a retail price of $39.99.
