News: Take-Two is not talking about Grand Theft Auto V. No how, no way, not at all and you can't make them.
Take-Two held their quarterly financial briefing on Tuesday and aside from the typical financial fluff, the company revealed that it plans to release four major titles sometime between February 1, 2010 and June 30, 2010.
Previously scheduled for release in 2009, BioShock 2, Mafia II, Max Payne 3, and Red Dead Redemption will all be coming to the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 (except for Red Dead, which is only coming to the PS3 and Xbox 360) sometime in the first half of the year. While this is not exactly new information, it's good to see Take-Two narrowing down the release window just a little bit more on this quartet of highly anticipated games.
Finally, Take-Two's Chairman, Strauss Zelnick, had a little bit to say about
Grand Theft Auto V. Or rather, he stood up and said that Take-Two has no plans to talk about the fifth Grand Theft Auto game and no plans on when they plan to talk about GTA5 and no plans on when they plan to plan to talk about the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series. Which is all well and good, but I'll let his own words tell the story...
Question: I don't know if you can really answer this but I just want to understand your strategy on the announcement of your next GTA franchise.
Strauss Zelnick: So we're not going to announce it, we're not going to announce when we are going to announce it, and we are not going to announce a strategy about announcing it or about when we are going to announce it either, or about the announcement strategy surrounding the announcement of the strategy.
I'd say that's a pretty firm "no comment."
We'll have more on all of these games, except for Grand Theft Auto 5, soon.
