News: On the 10th anniversary of 9/9/99, a new Dreamcast game is announced.

Palindrome dates (like today, 9/9/09) are pretty neat. Perhaps the ultimate palindrome date was 9/9/99, which was also the day that Sega launched their final console, the Dreamcast. Even though Sega dropped support of the console in 2002, a trickle of games have continued to be released over the years thanks to independent developers and smaller Japanese publishers.

So in honor of the tenth anniversary of the Dreamcast's launch, developer Senile Team and distributor redspotgames have announced that Rush Rush Rally Racing will be released for the system next month. The budget-priced game ($22/А15/е2200) will be a region free worldwide release that will support PAL (50/60 Hz), NTSC and VGA displays. Redspotgames hopes to make the game available at its website, redspotgames.com, and other online retailers.

Here's what Rush Rush Rally Racing will offer racing fans:

  • Single-player grand prix mode with four difficulty levels
  • Three multi-player modes to enjoy with up to four players
  • Five race cars to choose from
  • 10 Grand Prix race tracks
  • 9 additional multi-player race tracks
  • Awesome soundtrack by Black Device
  • Configurable controls and many other options
  • Animated cut scenes
  • Online Highscore!
  • Plus even more unlockable content!
  • Autosave to VMU (any port, file uses just 2 blocks)
  • Rumble Pack support
  • Compatible with original Dreamcast pads, arcade stick, and third party controllers

    We'll have more soon.
