News: Chaos will be Rising on Dawn of War II next Spring.
Following the success of the original Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War's sequels, THQ just announced that Dawn of War II will be seeing its first standalone expansion in Spring 2010. Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II Ц Chaos Rising will put the Blood Ravens against their mortal enemies, the Chaos Space Marines of the Black Legion. As a standalone expansion, it will also not require a copy of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II to play it.
The Chaos Space Marines are to take over as the main antagonist in the campaign, which will be beefed up with 20 additional missions.
Features:
Continue using the Blood Ravens from the original title, including any items they have acquired.
Level cap increased from level 20 to level 30.
New special abilities to be unlocked as squads level up.
New Wargear, including tainted Chaos wargear that Уcould lead to dreadful consequencesФ when equipped.
New units to bolster all races for multiplayer skirmishes.
The Chaos Space Marines will raise the number of playable multiplayer races to five.
УChaos Rising delivers a tremendous amount of new content, including the powerful Chaos Space Marines, new multiplayer maps and units, a new level cap and a continuation of the Blood Ravens single player campaign,Ф said Kevin Kraff, vice president of global brand management, THQ. УRelic's passion for the Warhammer 40,000 universe and talent in crafting innovative RTS games will ensure Chaos Rising is an engaging experience that will advance the franchise and genre.Ф
Sounds like a yet another healthy expansion pack coming to the Dawn of War franchise from developer Relic Entertainment. However, a few questions remain. Will we be able to reset our old characters ability points before taking on the new campaign? And the possible clincher, how much will it cost?
We'll have more soon.
