News: Currently available PS3 games will also be patched to make use of Sony's "wand".
Sony's still unnamed "Motion Controller" is on track for a Spring 2010 release and Sony has used the Tokyo Game Show to announce a variety of games that will launch alongside it. Sony is currently developing eight titles that will make use of the device, including new entries in the Ape Escape and Echochrome franchises:
Ape Escape (Working Title)
Echochrome 2 (Working Title)
Eccentric Slider (Working Title)
Sing and Draw (Working Title)
Champions of Time (Working Title)
Motion Party (Working Title)
The Shoot (Working Title)
Tower (Working Title)
Sony has also confirmed that a quintet of currently available games will be patched to work with the Motion Controller after it launches next Spring:
Pain
Flower
Hustle Kings
High Velocity Bowling
EyePet
The Motion Controller will come equipped with "two motion sensors, three axes gyroscope and three axes accelerometer that can detect the controller's angle and movement held in the user's hand." The Controller can also be paired with the PlayStation Eye camera to track it's absolute location. It will also include a rumble feature similar to the one found in the standard DualShock controller.
We'll have more soon.
