News: Gamers on the other side of the Pacific will be able to play GT5 on March 2010.
Kaz Hirai, the President and Group Chief Executive Officer of Sony Computer Entertainment, gave the keynote speech of the Tokyo Game Show yesterday and in it, he talked about the future of all things PlayStation.
Sony's PlayStation.Blog has a quick rundown of the speech, but the big reveal was saved for the end when Hirai announced the Japanese release date of Gran Turismo 5. More than five years in the making, the Polyphony Digital-developed racing simulator will be released in Japan on March 31, 2010.
Hirai did not speculate on when the game would be released in North America or European, but according to the PlayStation.Blog, they will be announced "in due course." It's unlikely the game will be released outside of Japan before the Spring ends or else Hirai would have announced a worldwide release date instead of a Japanese one. However, I would bet good money that a Summer release is not out of the question.
We'll have more soon.
