News: Another game has been delayed into 2010. Hopefully, it's the last.
Sony has confirmed to Destructoid that EyePet, their PlayStation-enabled pet simulator, will not be released in November as originally planned:
"The North American territory has decided to take additional time to focus on the EyePet product and can confirm it will not be available this holiday," a Sony rep said in a statement. "EyePet is an innovative and exciting new IP to the PS3 platform and SCEA marketing will spend additional time to continue educating customers and retail channels, setting the table for a successful product launch."
No additional details on when we'll get to play EyePet were revealed, but GameStop and other online retailers have tagged the game with a April 6, 2010 release date. Interestingly, this is right around the time when Sony plans to release their unnamed motion controller, which EyePet will support. Perhaps the delay was done to give the developers more time to integrate motion controls into the game.
Whatever the reason, we'll have more on EyePet soon.
