News: Motorhead, Tenacious D and Testament pull double duty next week.

Songs from EA's Brutal Legend will rock out on the Rock Band Store this week in a nice bit of cross-promotion (Rock Band is also published by EA). The Jack Black-starring action game features a huge soundtrack of metal heavyweights and Harmonix will make three of them (including a song from Black's band Tenacious D) available to download for Rock Band next week.

The Brutal Legend Pack will contain the following three songs:

  • MotЎrhead Ц "(We Are) The Road Crew '08"
  • Tenacious D Ц "The Metal"
  • Testament Ц "More Than Meets the Eye"

In addition to the Brutal Legend Pack, Harmonix will be serving up seven songs as individual track downloads:

  • Black Tide Ц "Show Me the Way"
  • Blink-182 Ц "What's My Age Again?"
  • Joe Satriani Ц "Satch Boogie"
  • Joe Satriani Ц "Surfing with the Alien"
  • Kansas Ц "Icarus (Borne on the Wings of Steel)" (Live from Two for the Show)
  • Kansas Ц "Point of Know Return" (Live from Two for the Show)
  • L7 Ц "Andres"

All of the tracks will be available for the Xbox 360 and Wii on Tuesday, October 13while PlayStation 3 owners will get a chance to download them on Thursday, October 15. And for those who plan to purchase Brutal Legend next week, Best Buy will include a bonus download code for the Brutal Legend Pack with every copy of the game for a limited time.

But for those who are just interested in downloading the pack from the Rock Band Store, it will be available for $5.49 (or 440 Microsoft Points on the Xbox 360). Each song released this week will also be available to download individually for $1.99, 160 Microsoft Points or 200 Wii Points each.

Finally, the PSP Rock Band Store for Rock Band Unplugged will receive two new tracks, "Jeremy" from Pearl Jam and "Headknocker" from Foreigner. Each track will be able to be downloaded for $1.99 each when they're added to the store on Thursday, October 15.
