Nintendo has announced that Wii owners who have been clamoring for additional colors for their Wii Remote or Nunchuk will finally get their wish very soon. That's because the company will be releasing a black-colored version of the controllers on November 16 (along with a matching black Wii MotionPlus accessory).
The accessories will be available in two different configurations. A black Wii Remote and Wii MotionPlus bundle will be available for $49.99 while the black Nunchuk controller will be sold separately for $19.99 each.
While the newly recolored controller won't be in stores for a month, the black Wii Remote and Nunchuk have already made their public debut through the television airwaves. On Monday night's episode of Accidentally on Purpose, the main character was seen using the controllers during an intense gameplay session with a figure skating game. If you wish to see it for yourself, the clip from Jenna Elfman's latest sitcom can be seen right here:
And as this video blog at CBS.com shows, actors Nic Wright and Jon Foster were actually playing the game Deca Sports (a Wii minigame collection that features a figure skating mode) on camera as the scene was filmed:
Oh, and for the record, I did not watch Accidentally on Purpose on purpose. But I caught the first few minutes of this episode when I didn't reach for the remote fast enough to turn off CBS after the hilarious How I Met Your Mother ended.
