The demo to the first
Left 4 Dead helped convince a skeptical world that the cooperative travails of a group of survivors amounted to a lot more than a hill of beans. The game would go on to become one of 2008's biggest hits and it still has a very active online community today. Valve has plenty of surprises in store for the sequel's demo including a look at the new boss infected:
The Left 4 Dead 2 demo will feature gameplay taken from "The Parish" campaign, set in the New Orleans French Quarter. Playable by 1 to 4 players over local or Internet connections on both the Xbox 360 and PC (with two-player split screen available on the Xbox 360), the demo features all the new boss infected zombies and all the new melee weapons included in the full product.
In other demo news, Microsoft has added a demo of
Band Hero to the Xbox Live Marketplace. The demo contains three playable tracks, Finger Eleven's "Paralyzer", Katrina & The Waves' "Walking on Sunshine" and Taylor Swift's "Picture to Burn". demo modes include Party Play and the brand new Sing-Along mode. Band Hero will be released on November 3.
