News: New instruments and a teaching mode are some of Dhani Harrison's ideas for the next game in the series.
Dhani Harrison and his band, thenewno2, are currently on tour with Wolfmother. As such, a lot of newspapers have been interviewing George Harrison's son about his life, his band and his involvement with the Rock Band franchise. And Dhani Harrison is responding by delivering the goods on how Rock Band 3 is shaping up.
After his work on The Beatles: Rock Band, it sounds like Harrison has become a permanent fixture around the offices at Harmonix as he helps the music game maestros make the third entry in the series more than just a giant track pack.
On Friday, he told the
Boston Herald that he wants Rock Band 3 to actually teach people how to play music:
Now Harrison is working on УRock Band 3Ф to make it even more realistic. His goal: to get the game to actually teach people to play music, not just to pantomime in rhythm.
He expanded on that idea during an interview with the
Chicago Tribune where he said:
"I'm working on 'Rock Band 3' and making the controllers more real so people can actually learn how to play music while playing the game," he says. "Give me a couple years, it's going to happen."
So not only will Rock Band 3 teach you how to play music, but it will come with a brand new set of plastic instruments that will be better suited to teaching you real music. Intersting.
It's unknown which platforms Rock Band 3 will appear on or when the game will be released as it is currently officially unannounced. It will likely take a while, but if Harrison's words are anything to go on, it will be awesome.
