News: Sadly, the PS2 and PSP versions have been delayed.

One more game originally scheduled for a Fall 2009 has fallen victim to a nasty delay. Konami's Silent Hill: Shattered Memories will now be an early 2010 release on the PlayStation 2 and PSP. Thankfully, the Wii version is still on schedule and will be released on December 8.

Shattered Memories is a remake of the original Silent Hill that is being built from the ground up for the Wii. This includes "a brand new user interface, all-new storylines, and a myriad of terrifying new gameplay features". These new gameplay features include the additions of a cell phone (powered by the speaker in the Wii Remote) and a flashpoint (controlled by pointing the Wii Remote at the screen).

The game also plans to reach into your brain to create scares by keeping a "psych profile" of your actions and reactions to the various demons that call the town of Silent Hill home:

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories begins just like the original as Harry Mason is searching for his daughter through the snowy streets of the haunted Silent Hill where he will encounter a cast of unique characters. However, this time, players are equipped with only a flashlight and cell phone to get story information, solve puzzles and navigate the darkness while escaping the demons that lurk among them. In addition, a psych-profiling feature has been added to analyze players and adjust itself to their actions, making this the most customizable and terrifying survival horror title to date.

We'll have more soon.
