News: The Sands of Time trilogy expands by one next May.

Ubisoft has announced that the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time trilogy will become a tetralogy next year when they release Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands on "consoles and handhelds". The Forgotten Sands will be released in May alongside the May 28, 2010 opening of the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time film starring Jake Gyllenhaal.

Ubisoft is not ready to reveal any other information about the game just yet, but they did say it will feature "many of the fan-favorite elements from the original series as well as new gameplay innovations."

However, gamers wanting to learn more about the Prince's next adventure won't have to wait long. Geoff Keighley has confirmed, via his Twitter account, that a trailer for the game will make its world premiere debut during the 2009 Spike TV Video Game Awards on December 12.

We'll have more soon.
