News: With Batman: Arkham Asylum taknig #2.

Time Magazine has posted their annual "Top 10 of Everything" list and their selections for the Top 10 Video Games of 2009 run the gamut from the obvious (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 at #1) to the suprising (Borderlands at #4) to the daft (DJ Hero at #3).

The list also includes Geo-Defense Swarm, this year's token iPhone pick (last year it was Fieldrunners) and Scribblenauts, this year's DS representative.

The full list can be found right here and while it proves that Time doesn't completely have a handle on this video game thing (they say "Most sequels are creative flops", which is not true at all in the game industry) they are learning:

"" 1. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
This is a game that sends a message: Video games have something intelligent to say about contemporary military conflicts. In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, you hop around the globe, chasing the front lines of globalized, asymmetrical combat, where not everybody wears uniforms, war isn't always declared, and the battlefield isn't clearly marked Ч battles rage through suburbs, airports and people's living rooms. There's tons of raw, riveting military action in Modern Warfare 2, but it's very much about how the game has changed: limiting civilian casualties and figuring out whom to fight and why are just as important as staying alive. ""

2. Batman: Arkham Asylum (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
3. DJ Hero (PS2, PS3, Wii, Xbox 360)
4. Borderlands (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
5. New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Wii)
6. Geo-Defense Swarm (iPhone)
7. Scribblenauts (DS)
8. Halo 3: ODST (Xbox 360)
9. Assassin's Creed II (PS3, Xbox 360)
10. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (PS3)
