News: As a bonus, it's "fully articulated and disturbingly creepy".
If you thought Special Editions were getting elaborate before, wait until you feast your eyes on the "Hunter Edition" for Sega's
Aliens vs Predator.
Available in February for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 (looks like PC gamers will miss out on it), the Hunter Edition will include the following goodies:
Aliens vs Predator game disc with SteelBook Packaging
Aliens vs Predator "Collector's Edition" hardcover graphic novel
Early access to four multiplayer maps (Docks, Outpost, Machine, Hive)
Weyland-Yutani Corp Sew-On Patch
3D Lenticular Postcard
And...
Wait for it...
A "fully articulated and disturbingly creepy" Facehugger replica model.
Wow. Sega didn't say how much this monstrosity (in more ways than one) would set you back, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say it won't come cheap. Those that pre-order the Hunter Edition can also look forward to some exclusive bonus character models for multiplayer mode for the Colonial Marines, the Aliens and the Predators.
A larger than life poster detailing both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the Hunter Edition can be found at the Sega America Blog.
If you're in the mood for Aliens vs Predator hijinks (and really, who isn't?), be sure to check out the game's Story Trailer, released yesterday by Sega. It's got a fantastic Lance Henriksen narration and Aliens fighting Predators (with a few slaughtered Colonial Marines for good measure).
We'll have more on Aliens vs Predator soon and hopefully I'll have the money to spring for a "fully articulated and disturbingly creepy" Facehugger this February.
