News: Here we go again.

3D Realms CEO Scott Miller is once again talking up the future of Duke Nukem, this time in the inaugural issue of Gamesauce. The outspoken Miller told the magazine that not only are there multiple Duke games in development, but that a film adaptation of the series is making "steady progress."

On the subject of future Duke Nukem games, Miller first confirmed that one of them is the not-quite-dead Duke Nukem Forever:

"" [W]e've never said that Duke Nukem Forever has ceased development. Yes, we released the internal team, but that doesn't correlate to the demise of the project. ""

3D Realms released the entire DNF development staff in May and it was assumed that development died with their unemployment. Perhaps that is not the case. But with Duke Nukem Forever, you never really know for sure.

However, according to Miller, a variety of other Duke Nukem games are in development at several third party studios. And some of those games will be coming out this year:

"" There are numerous other Duke games in various stages of development, several due out this year. We are definitely looking to bring Duke into casual gaming spaces, plus there are other major Duke games in production. Almost all of these [games] are unannounced. ""

The first Duke Nukem Trilogy game, in development for the DS and PSP, is scheduled to be released this year.

Shacknews speculated that some of the other projects Miller may have been talking about include the Duke Nukem iPhone games, Gearbox's Duke Begins (which is currently on hold), an Xbox Live Arcade port of Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project and whatever Duke Nukem: D-Day is (which first appeared on the Duke Facebook page a few weeks ago).

That's a lot of Duke.

Miller closed by confirming that the Duke Nukem film adaptation (which has existed in various forms of development hell since the late 90s) is finally coming together:

"" The Duke film is making steady progress... we're developing a much more complete storyverse for Duke, filling out all of the details we've left to the imagination in the games. ""

We'll have more on everything Duke Nukem soon. Hopefully it won't take forever to hear more from the man who stole all of Bruce Campbell's and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper's one-liners.
